Mr Elias Kovoor – Consultant Gynaecologist and Advanced Laparoscopic/ Robotic Surgeon in the UK

Mr Elias Kovoor is a highly experienced consultant gynaecologist and advanced laparoscopic surgeon based in the United Kingdom, specialising in the treatment of endometriosis, pelvic pain, prolapse, and other aspects of benign gynaecology
Internationally Trained Endometriosis Specialist
Mr Kovoor has undergone advanced laparoscopic surgical training in the UK, France, and Japan, with a strong focus on endometriosis surgery, urogynecology, and oncological procedures. He completed his advanced fellowship at the prestigious IRCAD Institute in Strasbourg, one of the world’s leading centres for minimally invasive gynaecological surgery.
Extensive Gynaecological Training and NHS Experience
Originally trained in India, Mr Kovoor completed his undergraduate and postgraduate medical education ( JIPMER) from India before moving to the UK. He completed his specialist registrar training in Nottingham, gaining subspecialty expertise in advanced laparoscopy and urogynecology.
In 2010, he began his consultant career at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, serving as a BSGE-accredited endometriosis specialist and also leading the colposcopy and rapid access services.
Establishing Specialist Endometriosis Services in Kent
In 2018, Mr Kovoor joined the Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust, where he founded and developed a dedicated endometriosis service for patients across Kent and surrounding areas. He also pioneered the introduction of V NOTE surgeries in the UK in 2018 which is now routinely offered to selected patients. He is also trained in Robotic surgery which is used regularly in Multidisciplinary complex endometriosis surgery
He currently runs endometriosis clinics at:
Queen Mary’s Hospital, Sidcup
Darent Valley Hospital, Dartford
These clinics are part of a BSGE-accredited tertiary referral centre, specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of complex endometriosis.
